Frequently Asked Questions
How can I contact you?
Check out our contact page for more information.
Who publishes PyMag?
Python Magazine is published by Marco Tabini & Associates, Inc., a technical publishing house based in Toronto, Canada. We commonly refer to ourselves as “MTA.”
MTA was founded in 2000 and started publishing php|architect Magazine at the end of 2002.
Who runs PyMag?
See our “About Us” page.
Do You Accept Article Submissions?
Of course we do! Read our Write for Us section for more information (and, in case you're wondering, we do pay for articles we publish).
In Which formats is PyMag available?
You can buy Python Magazine in one of two formats:
- PDF-only, downloadable from our website and viewable using all popular PDF viewers, including xpdf, OSX Preview and, of course, Adobe Acrobat.
- Print and PDF; you will receive your copy of PyMag in the mail (the regular kind) and also have access to PDF editions as they become available on our website.
What does this website run on?
All of the MTA infrastructure is based on PHP 5 (with a mix of Python and C in the backend). We do not use any commercial software, and our system is based on a proprietary loosely-coupled architecture we call Inferno (in case you were wondering). How can I pay for my subscription?
During the pre-subscription phase, we only accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express.
Once the first issue of PyMag becomes available, you will also be able to use Paypal and cheque/purchase order.
What are those extra shipping charges?
Our “base” subscription price includes shipping to Canada and the US. Shipping to other countries is more expensive, and that is reflected in the shipping charges that are added to your total.
Can I buy a single issue?
Yes, you can buy an issue that has already been published in PDF format.
What do you do with my credit card information?
We never keep your credit card information in our database. When you make a purchase on our website for the first time, we upload your credit card information to our merchant bank, who uses it to validate your data and provide us with a method to receive payment from you.
When you make subsequent purchases, we simply refer back to the credit card that is stored at our merchant provider, but without ever actually saving your credit card number in our database.
Your FAQ doesn't answer my question!
Sorry about that! Try dropping us a line and we'll do our best to help.
